A few words about me

My name is George Mavrommatis and i am 33 years old. I was born in Aigio Greece where i leave and work as a independent Graphic – Web Designer. The first attempt to express through the painting was in adolescence, using gypsum, pencils, watercolors, plaster and other materials.

Much later at the age of 20 years I studied for 2 years in IEK PETRA graphic design courses in Athens. With the amazing world of Internet began to experiment 2 years later. Since then i have never stopped to read and try new things in the internet environment.

When I finished my studies i worked in publishing and sofware companies for some years. Today i’m working in my house having completely independency.

What is a logo?

The logo may be an image, a symbol, or a word, or a shape, or combining two or more of these data. The objective is to convey the message to the audience very quickly and with minimal effort.

Effective criteria for the logo:

  1. Be simple. Less complexity means more direct and effective.
  2. Be unique. This will stand out from the others, leading to public attention. Imagine a product in a supermarket among many other competing products, how difficult it is to gain attention.

Design and Develop attractive, accessible and functional websites

A successful website must combine three essential characteristics.

  1. The source code has to be clean and valid (so that everyone, man or machine can be easily read, understand, modify).
  2. The attractive appearance (visual concept, frontend).
  3. The useful and valid content.

The right combination of these characteristics requires knowledge of many years, experience, imagination, talent and above all love for this job.

Following the rules web standards set by the World Wide Web Consortium w3.org. All my work is full compatible with all major (web browsers), and friendly for search engines.

Design and Develop xhtml/css website templates

Website templates usually consist of an initial page (home page) with a navigation system inoperative. The links do not lead to other pages. There are no other pages to go. The user lead the links to other pages that will build itself. Many times the website layout in separate pages should be changed to ensure better visibility of contents.

Search engine optimization (SEO)

Studies have shown that 85% of users look only to first and second page of search engine results and about 65% do not ever click on sponsored results. The purpose of SEO technique is to hit as much as you can on top of organic results and this requires time, great effort and above all knowledge.

Mention briefly some basic SEO rules for a possible better position in the result? of search engines by searching for specific words or key phrases.
